Silverton, Oregon
It might surprise visitors to learn that Silverton is Oregon’s Garden City, considering the wild and untamed wilderness surrounding this Willamette Valley town. Named after the creek which flows through its center, Silverton’s charm is undeniable. Its thriving agriculture and art communities blend to form an idyllic district of historic homes and family-run businesses.
Its story begins on the banks of Silver Creek, where pioneers established a settlement in 1846. Less than a decade later they moved downstream to the current site of Silverton City. Today, Silverton is considered the gateway to Silver Creek Falls and home to the Oregon Garden (no doubt inspiration for its epithet). The town center is enhanced by colorful murals and creek side views throughout and well worth a visit.
This week we’ll highlight a few businesses making waves in Silverton. What is your favorite thing to do in Silverton?
