Victor Point School's Run for the Hills is a fantastic way to get in shape, see some of this area's most beautiful country, and fundraise for a Silver Falls School District K-8 school. The second annual Run for the Hills is Saturday, May 21. It features a 1-mile run for kids 12-and-under, a 5K fun run/walk, a brand-new 10K, and a challenging and unforgettable 15K. All four events start and finish at the school, with the longer races winding through the beautiful Cascade foothills surrounding it. The 1-miler begins at 8 a.m., followed by the 15K at 8:15 a.m. The 5K and 10K races start at 8:45 a.m. Runners, walkers and onlookers will enjoy a festive atmosphere featuring music, a raffle, our wonderful playground and food. After crossing the finish line, each participant can claim an Oktoberfest sausage and watermelon. Free coffee for everyone. Proceeds benefit the K-8 students at Victor Point School, via the non-profit Parent Teacher Community Club (PTCC). Among other things, the club pays for school equipment and classroom supplies, field trip bussing, Lego Club and Outdoor School.
