Organic Forms, Natural Elements

Lunaria Gallery proudly presents "Natural Forms, Organic Elements," an exhibition of new works from Rebekah Rigsby and Helen Nute Wiens during June 2013. Both artists will be present for a special opening reception on First Friday. Refreshments will be served. Rigsby, a mixed media artist from Salem, will display a series of new collages inspired by the nature of the Pacific Northwest. Rigsby has created several new groups of collages - each in sets of three - that study similar subjects in different sizes. Each mixed media collage features rich colors and unique textures through the application of multiple layers of torn paper and acrylic paints. Wiens, a studio jeweler from Salem, will introduce a new line of original jewelry. In keeping with her distinct style of sinuous lines and organic design, this show will introduce her recent exploration with cement, watercolor, and colored pencil which she has incorporated into her hand-forged and metal fabricated leaf, twig, and branch pieces.
