The small German community of Mt. Angel (just 5 miles from Silverton) hosts Oregon's oldest and best-loved Oktoberfest. Begun in 1966 as a traditional harvest festival to celebrate the bounty of the earth, it is Oregon's largest folk festival.
Throughout the four day festival there is continuous live music on four stages, free kindergarten with rides & shows, 40 Alpine food chalets serving a wide variety of ethnic foods, large Arts & Crafts Show, traditional Biergarten, Weingarten and Alpinegarten, over 30 musical groups, Cruz-n Car Show and more. The theme for this year is Eat, Drink, Polka!
This year, we are celebrating the best parts of Oktoberfest! Come enjoy our Bavarian favorites as you "Eat, Drink, Polka!" your way through Mt. Angel! Our Oktoberfest Festival gets bigger and better each year. We are looking forward to another great celebration with you! Be sure to mark your calendars to celebrate with us from September 12-15th. |
