Lunaria Gallery presents an exhibit of current juried work by area artists; all of whom created a thematic piece for Home Is Where the Art Is. In the loft, the exhibit, A to Z, A Little Celebration of Typography, Color & Words, features a collection of artworks by Maude Anne May. Her work involves the use of mixed media, stitchery, and collage. Both shows will be on display February 27th - April 1st, 2019, during regular business hours and at the First Friday artists' reception March 1st, from 7-9 pm.
Home Is Where the Heart Is is a juried show sponsored by Lunaria Gallery. This show has drawn from a large pool of artists living in the Willamette Valley. Each artist has created personal imagery about home in a wide variety of mediums. Oil painting, graphite drawing, ceramics, gouache, and mixed media are among the mediums used. This show presents with an eclectic assortment of styles and mediums; all expressing aspects of our wondrous home in Oregon.
In the Loft, A to Z, A Little Celebration of Typography, Color, & Form, celebrates things that Maude May loves: color, type, and words. Using a lifetime of experiences and career paths, Maude has amassed fiber, papers, ribbons, ephemera, fabric, and photographs. With beeswax and Demar resin, she layers elements together with additions of pan pastels, paint, and more. Her evocative images result.
