Featured artists for May are Pamela Edwards, mosaic and Michael Williams, woodwork in an exhibit titled "Segments and Fragments".
Pamela Edwards mosaic style has taken some new directions. There is a considerable variety of subject matter from fanciful, surrealistic flowers and sea creatures, to abstract and non-objective contemporary work, and traditional representational subjects from nature. Pamela says this show was an opportunity to think of new ways to express her ideas in glass mosaics. The show incorporates several styles of design, but the one thread that runs throughout Pamela's work is her exuberant use of color.
Michael Williams will also be exhibiting his new multi-segmented wood vessels at this joint show. These beautiful pieces are made from natural hardwoods from around the world, carefully hand-turned on a lathe. some of these precision-cut vessels contain upwards of 500 pieces, and are cut using Michael's custom made equipment. No artificial colors or dyes are used, and many of the exquisite woods come from sustainable sources.
Upstairs in the gallery will be a group show titled "Enchanted Garden", This exhibit will be celebrating the arrival of spring in "Oregon's Garden City" and is art for and about the garden by gallery artists and guests.the arrival of spring.
