10 Week After-School Series for Grades 5-8
The program offers fun, hands-on activities at The Oregon Garden. Youth will learn how to grow, harvest, and cook their own produce, plus complete service learning activities for the community.
Students who love to be outside and would like to start their own garden will enjoy this program. During this series we will learn about insects, soil, healthy eating, basic cooking survival skills, and more! Students who complete this course will earn a Junior Master Gardener certificate. The course involves various science, technology, engineering, arts and math projects! All activities connect to the Next Generation Science Standards. Visit the JMGKIDS.US website for example activities. Snacks, supplies, 4-H liability insurance and JMG handbooks are provided at no additional cost.
This program is first come, first serve. To register have a parent or guardian email kelly.noack@oregonstate.edu by March 23 at 3:30 pm. A follow-up email will include instructions fo program participation. JMG is limited to a 30 student classroom. A $35 4-H fee will be collected the first day of class. Class members will receive free admission to The Garden during JMG program activities.
