Heaven and Earth are represented in a double feature exhibit by local artists Deborah Unger, sculptor, and Kara Pilcher, painter.
Upstairs, the Loft features “well-seasoned art” in its Hearth, Home and Holidays gift setting. The Exhibit runs at
Lunaria Gallery, Nov. 4-Dec.1.
Deborah Unger‘s carved, wooden sculptures of human figures set in custom environments or vignettes, evoke unsettling, nostalgic and thought provoking emotions. They can be interpreted as ironic, metaphoric or amusing.
Many of Kara Pilcher's aqueous media paintings are inspired by choreography of Power and Praise Dance Company, which she danced with for over 25 years. The movements of "The Lord's Prayer" are in a sequence of 20 images. Among other musings of Grace and heaven on earth is a series in watercolor collage of colorfully patterned "Angels with Attitude". Kara is a Past President of Watercolor Society of Oregon. She is also represented at Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery.
