Join us August 24th at 9:30 am in the Natural Resource Education Center for a Garden University workshop on Conifers! About Conner: The young Chelsea flower show gold medalist has had a successful career in multiple fields in multiple countries. Initially, Connor Smith started his career for a garden center which quickly rose to become one of the best in Scotland. After completing his first year of study Connor was accepted to work as an Intern for the world-renowned conifer and maple grower Iseli Nursery. Becoming one of the first non-American interns to be extended since the inception of the intern program in 1987. Returning to Scotland Connor got an offer to work for Zu Jeddeloh nursery In Germany seeing cutting edge machinery, innovation and marketing. Then working with Vannucci Piante in Pistoia, Italy which is the largest growing area in Europe. Currently, he is based at The Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh working in multiple roles as a retailer, Alpine horticulturist, Conifer conservation, marketing. RBGE has one of the largest plant collections in the world.
