Lunaria Gallery artist Lee Jacobson is a ceramic artist with an imagination and a good ear. Not only does he create beautiful porcelain artworks on the potter's wheel, he also knows how to make his pots "sing." Jacobson will be sharing with the public several of his large ceramic drums at Lunaria's upcoming First Friday reception on October 3rd. The drums are beautifully designed and quite unique. Each is made of stoneware clay, and fitted with a rawhide skin drumhead. Several of the drums employ the classic African Djembe style drum shape, to produce a broad range of tonalities and a remarkable sound. You are invited to join us as musician Ric Schlecter perform soothing background music for the opening reception as he demonstrates on several of these one-of-a-kind musical works of art. This performance in connection with Ann Altman’s paintings-on-glass art exhibit promises a unique evening.
